Tampere University names Bakar Fellow Ana Claudia Arias as Honorary Doctor

The new Tampere University in Finland held its first Conferment of Doctoral Degrees on August 12-14, 2022. In addition to honoring its graduating class, Tampere University offered 14 Honorary Doctors at the ceremony.

The title of Honorary Doctor is the highest recognition the university offers. Recipients from around the world were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the arts and sciences. The recipients, among them Bakar Fellow Ana Claudia Arias, include the following:

  • Ban Ki-Moon, Chairman of Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future, Secretary-General of the United Nations 2007–2016
  • Chun Wei Choo, Professor at the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto, Canada
  • Bernard Cova, Senior Professor of Marketing, Kedge Business School, France
  • Klaske Havik, Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands
  • Rauno Ihalainen, Hospital Councellor, Director of Pirkanmaa Hospital District 1995–2019
  • Timothy Ingold, Professor Emeritus of Social Anthropology, University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom
